TRD Griffon Concept GT86 in-depth (Tsukuba Time Attack)

The Griffon Project isn't about pumping up HP, it's about losing as much weight as possible.

The Griffon GT86 sports a lightweight bodykit by TRD which includes carbon fiber doors, hood, roof, rear wing and trunk, while rear diffuser, front wing and bumpers are all made from CFRP.

The stock glass window had been replaced with light polycarbonate units. The GT86 now sits on 18inch alloys wrapped in Yokohama Advan tires. Overall, the car has lost 227kg.

Further performance modifications contain a TRD mechanical differential instead of the stock Torsen unit, while the final drive ratio has been shortened to 4:8:1. An oil cooler has been added and TRD monoblock calipers with race-spec brake pads.

Keeping an eye on this beaut.
