2014 Porsche Panamera

Originally unveiled in 2009 at Auto Shanghai, the Porsche Panamera was hailed by enthusisats as the four door sedan marking the long awaited production update to 1989's Porsche 989 concept vehicle. Now, the German auto manufacturer has unveiled the 2014 edition of the automobile. Replacing the old 4.8 litre V8 engine with a Biturbo 3.0 litre V6 under the hood.

The car's smaller engine actually produces more power than the previous design, creating 420 hp alongside 384 lb-ft of torque.

Additionally, the upcoming model year marks the debut of the Panamera S E-Hybrid edition, an improvement over the previous hybrid that now boasts a more powerful electric motor and lithium-ion battery for an improvement in gas mileage from 33 mpg to 76 mpg. Bulled as the first luxury plug-in hybrid, the Panamera S E-Hybrid is also faster than the previous electric and can go from 0-62 mph in 5.5 seconds with an electric top speed of 84 mph.

Finally, cosmetic upgrades to the design include everything from a larger rear spoiler and more angled rear window to LED lamps and a multifunction steering wheel.

Look for the Panamera across the globe later this year.
